Things I've
built for fun.
Optimization problem for a balsa wood truss. The purpose of this project was to maximize specific strength, given geometric constraint. I preformed stress failure analysis to make all members fail at the same load.
My first university engineering project. Where me and my team designed a curb assist for dogs in wheelchairs. I the mechanical member of the group, and this is the first time I used CAD to complete a project.
Conceptual design study for a piezo driven robotic hand. Focusing on 1-DOF for a finger. This was part of my ME 598 technical elective course on smart materials, and I wanted to use this as an opportunity to explore how practical piezoelectric motion is for one of my main interests, robotic manipulators. (Spoilers: It is not very practical)
Continuing my passion for developing mechatronic systems, I joined the University of Waterloo Robotics Team (UWRT) where I got to work on a more challenging mars rover project and compete at the University Rover Challenge (URC).
